My Dad Took This Picture

Ok... so I decided to try blogging again. The white, unpersonalized blank spaces of the "new blog" form asked for my blogging name. Thinking I'd already Given it mine: Nonny,  I next thought it wanted the name of my first topic. I put in "My Dad Took This Picture" because that was going to be my first blog topic. I wanted to give him credit for the picture I've used. Instead, apparently, I've named my entire blog this and I can't figure out for the life of me how to change the title. Perhaps it will grow on me. Yeah, that's it! I wanted this title! Uh huh.... LOVE it in fact! "My dad took this picture...." it has a nice ring doesn't it! Okay...

Maybe

Anyhoo

I used a photo here that I (obviously) didn't take. If you look closely, you'll notice I was pretty small. I'm thinking too small for someone that little to take. Certainly too small to achieve that kind of amazing quality. I mean, look at the lighting there. The tones. The texture. Also, I appear to be sleeping. Unless you're thinking I'm a prodigy, and a really good actor, you, by now, have figured out that I (in fact) didn't take this picture.
Nope, My dad did. Duh...
Only he could have taken it. I can see it a mile away. I remember growing up with all these b/w images around the house: on the walls (some with award ribbons on them), in photo albums, and the old, blackish-grayish treasure box. It was this great old case that held his earlier black and white pictures. As kids, we weren't allowed to get into it without the help of my parents. I do remember a few times (ONLY a few) where I'd find the box and very, very carefully look at the pictures inside. In fact, to this day I get peeved when I see people not handling pictures with the respect they deserve.
Please: Hold them by the edges and underneath. Don't put your greasy thumbs all over them, okay?
The point here is, my dad takes wonderful pictures. He deserves all the credit in the universe, certainly more than he's gotten for making such art. So, because of my mistake, and because I wanted to credit him, I will keep the name of this silly blog and do so happily. Hopefully, it will bring you all a laugh, and with it-- a reminder:

Hey there! Loved your post, and the blog name is unique and memorable. So is the picture. Your dad is so talented in many ways. And I am thrilled to think we other earth-dwellers will be able to read your mind in this blog. Keep a-goin'!

yay!
I'm thrilled as well. It makes those miles between here and Utah seem fewer somehow. I'm happy you like the picture. Yes, dad is truly talented. Now I need to convince my mom to blog and get out all of her poetry and her drawings. That's next!
